VNFO 2012: The day after (craving for chocolate & shopping)

Ora tocca al “day after”! ;)

No, certo che no… :P

A couple of weeks ago there was the Vogue Fashion's Night Out in Milan. A little "event", a different night, a distraction from my life every day. However, for every "event", worthy of respect, there is the "day event" and a "Day After".

About that strange, colorful, noisy evening I told extensively HERE. Now it's up to the "day after"! ;)

That's like saying, "But Alice is gone in Milan and came back empty-handed??" No, of course not... :P

After a few, very few hours of sleep (and note that I was standing that day 5:00 am in the morning), I picked up my things, quickly posted the first impressions of the night just ended attaching pictures of my previous visit to Milan (it's all HERE) and I went downtown for the last lap, in the light of the day, before returning to the quiet little Vicenza.

The first stop? This time, none store, but...  Arnold Coffee!! Maybe because for me that I come from the "country" an American coffee shop, pure (or almost!) NY style is very "exotic"; maybe because – even if the most part of  people in Milan does not like it – I loved that place at first sight yet back in 2011 (when I was living in Milan for a while... ah, amazing times!); maybe because I was hungry (very hungry!) and craving for chocolate... it  can be anything you want, but nobody could prevent me from having a nice high-calorie breakfast! ;)

When in my weekly horoscope I found, in two lines, the description of my previous week, with details of "some (harmless) grant to the palate," Well, what about... harmless or not, the breakfast was a pure moment of pleasure! And to relax after racing during the previous twenty-eight hours!

And then what? And then... some quick visits to stores, that for someone who does what I do, is nothing more than industrial espionage. Like to say it's job. As if to say that it is necessary. :P

I went to visit the new floor of the women's department at La Rinascente and I'm not at all disappointed! Enchanted by the new installations in the shoes & bags department (when there will be new episodes of Shopping Night*?), I would have bought everything and more, especially all Repetto ballerinas. And at the Red Valentino corner, unable to leave even one Euro, I left my heart...

Continuing very quickly, I made a detour at JDC in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, eager to see new ways of setting up a jeans department. Some new ideas is always useful…

And then I could not miss one of my rituals: a visit to the most beautiful Intimissimi store in Italy! Where, of course, I got a present! I guess I still wanted chocolate, because my choice fell on a very fluid shirt, just the color of delight to the palate derived from cocoa! I hope to let you see worn soon! :)

But, although I am currently unable to do much shopping (not that much I was never "able"...), even during the VFNO I allowed myself a little whim, and even in this case, I respected my other Milanese  ritual. Since 2010, every time I visit Milan, I purchase a "fashionable book", a small piece for my personal library. Usually I fulfill this ritual at the 10 Corso Como library, but this time since my times were very close, I thought that everywere was fine. The important thing was to buy on the evening of Thursday, so the amount of my purchase would go to charity. :)

So, back to my story, you should know that by Gio Moretti I didn’t get out empty handed... but I made my share of good that night! ;)

Curious?

Here it is! A new book - Vogue on Christian Dior by Charlotte Sinclair - written just in English, bought specifically to improve my knowledge of this language. :) And, we bet that will be far better than any grammar? ;)
